On Sunday, August 16, we filled the street outside Sentralen and Christiania Torv with good food, talentes chefs, music, and food experiences for all ages. Thank you to everyone who made the trip!

On Sunday, August 16th, Sentralen and Sentralen Mat invited everyone to this year's edition of Kokkenes Dag. Following last year’s success, we expanded the festival area so the celebration filled both the street outside Sentralen and Christiania Torv!
Kokkenes Dag is a unique food festival where we transform the street into a vibrant outdoor restaurant. We gather some of the country’s top chefs and restaurants, each serving fantastic small plates from their own stations. The goal of the festival is to honor the city's talented culinary scene, spread a love for great food, and showcase the very best culinary experiences Oslo has to offer.
The festival has free admission and is co-hosted by Sentralen and Sentralen Mat, based on an initiative by Tom Victor Gausdal.
At Kokkenes Dag, the public votes for their favorite restaurant of the day - and this year, Credo took home the victory with their Michelin-grade meatballs. The demand was so high that they ended up completely selling out!
A huge congratulations to Credo on becoming this year's crowd favorite.
Kokkenes Dag isn't about sitting still at a single table. You can wander around, sample a bit of everything, discover new favorites, and enjoy culinary experiences you might not have stumbled upon otherwise.
All dishes are sold at friendly prices, so you can try a wide variety of flavors throughout the day.
What makes Kokkenes Dag extra special is the close proximity to the chefs, who are out in the street cooking, serving, and chatting directly with guests.
Feel free to start a conversation, ask about ingredients and techniques, or simply experience the passion behind every dish. It's a rare opportunity to meet some of Norway’s finest chefs up close in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
Kokkenes Dag is an accessible food experience for anyone curious about great food - whether you come with friends, family, kids, or drop by on your own.
It's more than just incredible food; it's a festival for the whole family! This year, Urban Circus entertained guests of all ages with an action-packed circus show. Geitmyra Matkultursenter brought their "Taste the World" concept, where kids could explore, smell, and taste exciting ingredients and spices from around the globe.
To top it all off, Oh Mama! Crew delivered fantastic music and great vibes from the DJ stage all day long.
We are so fortunate to have an incredible group of restaurants and chefs who join us to celebrate Kokkenes Dag. Here are the restaurants that participated this year:
