It’s time for this year’s Ultima Festival, and once again you can experience parts of the festival programme here at Sentralen.

Welcome to a festival of new and unexpected sonic experiences!
Through concerts, sound art, music theatre, exhibitions, dance and talks, Ultima Festival embraces the full spectrum of experimental and innovative sonic experiences. For 10 days in September, Oslo pulses with sound and life – on stages, in clubs and museums, and out in the streets. The programme spans a wide range of genres, from contemporary classical music to pop, jazz, folk music, noise, improvisation and rock.

This year’s programme and line-up
This year’s Ultima features voices that return, instruments that resist, bodies encountering technology, and stories that refuse to be left behind. There is danger in this instability, and haunting traces. But there is also room for play, curiosity and exciting new ways of listening.
The festival programme at Sentralen includes Norwegian and international names such as Lasse Marhaug, Camille Norment, Karl Ove Knausgård, Glenn Kotche, Merzbow, Susanna Wallumrød, François Sarhan, Mahsa Vahdat, The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, Cecilie Ore, Kristine Tjøgersen, Øyvind Torvund, Carmen Villain, Beatrice Dillon, Explore Ensemble, Mette Ingvartsen, Carte Blanche, Violeta García, Tine Surel Lange, Hanna Hartman, Natasha Barrett, Svetlana Maraš, Nils Henrik Asheim, Kelman Duran, Alessandro Cortini, Marcin Pietruszewski, Lukas De Clerck, Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Thov Wetterhus, Oslo Philharmonic, The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir, Cikada, LEMUR, Zafraan Ensemble, and many more.

Ultima is one of the world’s leading festivals for contemporary music and sound, created in close collaboration with the 18 institutions that make up the Ultima Foundation, as well as a wide range of other partners in Norway and internationally. Each year, the festival presents more than 40 productions involving hundreds of participating artists.

Can I park my bike outside?
Yes, there is bike parking outside Sentralen in Øvre Slottsgate.
How do I get to Sentralen?
Sentralen is located in Øvre Slottsgate 3. There are no parking spaces connected to Sentralen, and we recommend that you use public transport.
Tram: The nearest tram stop is Øvre Slottsgate (trams 12, 13, 15).
Bus: The nearest bus stop is Kvadraturen/Wessels plass (30, 31, 32, 54, 70, 81).
Metro: The nearest metro station is Stortinget. All metros stop at Stortinget.
Car: Nearest parking garages are Palèet and Bankplass, if arrival by car is required. There is no street parking around Sentralen.
Is Sentralen accessible and universally designed?

Can I bring food and drink to an event?
Yes, you are welcome to bring food and drinks purchased from any of our cafés, bars, or restaurants into our event halls, meetingrooms, and shared public spaces.
If you'd like a drink or a snack before a concert or event, you can purchase refreshments from one of our food and beverage outlets during their opening hours. Check out all opening hours.
Please note that outside food and drinks are not permitted.
