Om arrangementet
Portraits in Red is a solo dance performance by Anu Laiho.
The work examines the human under the gaze of the other, casting focus on the expectations, assumptions and desires that interfere in the experience of a feminine queer body and mind. A sense of otherness lingers in the landscape, taking the form of monstrosity moving through metamorphoses of pleasure and violence. The performer creates a series of metaphorical self-portraits, in an attempt to reveal their self to the audience, assembling and disassembling the self in a continuous loop.
A portrayal of the red fleshiness under the skin and the inner workings of the mind.
