Rental of meeting rooms
Is the meeting room unlocked when I arrive at Sentralen?
All meeting rooms are locked until you have registered your arrival. Please check in at the reception when you arrive so we can unlock the room and show you the way to your meeting room.
Can I bring my own catering?
No, it is not allowed to bring catering from external companies. You can buy meeting packages that include catering, or buy items in Sentralen Cafe and bring to your meeting room.
Is there coffee/tea/water ready in the room when I arrive?
If you have pre-ordered one of our meeting packages, it will be ready in the meeting room at the agreed time. Meeting packages are available for groups of five or more and can be arranged when booking your meeting room. Alternatively, you can purchase items from the café upon arrival and bring them to the meeting room.
Can I hang something on the walls of the meeting room?
Yes, you can, but only with masking tape that does not damage the walls. Contact the reception or event hosts for help finding the right tape.
Do you have video conferencing equipment/microphone and camera in the meeting rooms?
Yes, all our meeting rooms have equipment for video conferencing/microphone and camera. The equipment is a combined sound and picture board with microphone and camera that you connect to your computer with a USB-C cable.
Do you have a transition from HDMI cable to PC/Mac?
There are transitions from HDMI cable to other inputs on PC/Mac in all meeting rooms. The sound and video board from PolyCom uses a USB-C cable.
Is there a whiteboard or flip chart available in the meeting room?
A combined whiteboard/flipchart with markers is standard in all meeting rooms. If you want a larger whiteboard, please let us know at the time of booking.
Is there free Wi-Fi in the meeting rooms?
Yes, there is free wireless internet throughout the building.

Can I set up the room before my meeting?
You have access to the room from the time you booked the room and not before. If you need to set up the room, or prepare before the meeting, you will need to extend your meeting room booking.
Can I pay for the rental of the meeting room with a credit or debit card?
Yes, you can pay for the rental of the meeting room by credit or debit card. Please let us know that you would like to pay by card when booking the room. We need your name, address, email address and phone number.
Do you send an invoice for renting meeting rooms to private individuals?
Yes, we send an invoice for renting meeting rooms to private individuals. We need your name, address, email address and phone number to send the invoice.
Is it possible to rent meeting rooms by the hour?
Yes, you can rent meeting rooms by the hour or by the day. You decide for yourself how long you want to rent the meeting room.
If you rent a meeting room for a meeting that starts after 17:00 on a weekday, or a meeting room during the weekend, you pay a reduced price.
Do I get reduced price if I book a meeting room for a meeting that starts after 17:00, or takes place on weekends at Sentralen?

Rental of event venues, halls and stages
Is external catering allowed?
No, external catering or food and drinks are not allowed on our premises. Sentralen Mat is responsible for all catering at Sentralen. Contact your producer to order catering to your event.
What does get-in and get-out mean?
"Get-in" refers to the time you wish to access the venue, including setup, technical testing, etc. "Get-out" refers to the time by which you must have fully cleared the venue. The event itself must take place between the get-in and get-out times.
Can we use Sentralen's technical equipment, but bring our own technicians?
If you wish to use our technical equipment, our technicians must be present. If you want to bring in your own technicians in addition, this is possible. Contact your producer if you want to bring your own technicians.
What ticketing system do you use?
Sentralen uses the Tixly ticketing system.
Do you have parking?
No, we don't have parking spaces available at Sentralen. The nearest parking garages are the Palèet and Bankplassen.
Does Sentralen have an environmental certification?
Yes, Sentralen is Eco-Lighthouse certified.
What do I do if I want Sentralen to publish tickets for my event through its ticketing system?
If you want Sentralen to publish tickets for your event through its ticketing system, you must fill out a ticket form. In the form, you will also get information on how Sentralen promotes events.
How does Sentralen promote events at Sentralen?
You have to promote your event yourself
We expect you to make an active effort to promote your event. It involves, for example, creating a Facebook event and adding Sentralen as a co-organizer, as well as sharing and promoting the event in relevant channels.
We contribute to the promotion of events at Sentralen
We contribute to the promotion of all audience events submitted via the programme or ticket form on our website.
The event will be featured in our online programme with its own dedicated page, displayed on screens at Sentralen as the date approaches, included in our weekly newsletter, and may also be promoted through our social media channels. The event can also appear in external calendars such as Visit Oslo, Broadcast and Aktiv i Oslo. We keyword advertise our program on Google.
We promote all events at Sentralen equally, and in the same way.
Is it allowed to use glitter, confetti etc. during the event?
No, it is not allowed to use glitter, confetti etc. during the event.
Can I use a smoke machine?
If you want to use a smoke machine during the event, it must be arranged in advance. In most cases, this leads to additional staffing costs.
Can I hang something in the ceiling during the event?
In general, you can not hang anything in the ceiling of our premises, unless it is of a material that is not flammable, or is sprayed with flame retardant. Usually, you need to hire a lighting technician to hang something in the ceiling, since you have to use the light rig.
Can I hang something on the wall with duct tape?
If you want to hang something on the walls, use masking tape. You can't use any other tape to hang anything up on the wall.
How can I make my event visible at Sentralen on the day of the event?
Here's how you can make your event visible to us on the day of the event:
- Hang posters on poster wall just inside main entrance.
- Placing rollups inside or outside
- Placing beach flags inside or outside
- Placing a poster in a poster box that you borrow from us
- Hang posters on the walls at the event space you rented with masking tape
Do the staff at Sentralen welcome my guests or audience?
You are responsible for taking care of your guests or your audience. If there are hosts at the reception and they are asked by guests where to go, they will help out. The host also creates posters with information about the location of your event. If you want, you can book dedicated hosting from us, which accommodates your guests.
Does the event host provide guests or the public with practical information about emergency exits, toilets etc?
No, the event host does not inform your guests or audience about this. However, the host gives you the information so that you can pass it on.
Can I get my own key card for the room I rented?
No, you will not be given a key card to the venue you have rented. When you arrive: let us know at reception and we will unlock the venue for you. If you want us to lock the room during the rental period, you can let the host know.
How do I connect to wireless network/WiFi?

Can I drop off equipment, decorations or anything else before the get-in for the event - or pick something up after the get-out?
It is possible to deliver something in advance or pick it up afterwards, but this must be arranged in advance.
You can arrange this with your producer.
Are there other events or bookings at Sentralen at the same time as my event?
Yes, there is a good chance that there are other events or bookings at Sentralen at the same time as your event. Audience areas are open and accessible to all, and other tenants can also arrange something the same day.
As a rule, there is activity in almost all premises and all floors of Sentralen every day.
If something special happens, we will try to inform you about it.
The vast majority of our audience events are published in our program. There you can get an overview of other events on the same day.
Can I get a separate wireless network for my event?
Yes, you can get a separate wireless network for your event.
Then you yourself choose what the network will be called, and the password of the event.
We must be notified 48 hours before the event starts that you would like a network of your own.
You can notify the manufacturer for the arrangement.

Tickets for your event
Where and how do I buy a ticket (s)?
Tickets can be purchased via program calendar on our website, or at the reception during Sentralen's opening hours.
What happens if the event I'm going to is cancelled?
You are responsible for checking whether the event will be carried out as planned or not. An event is considered cancelled if the event does not take place at all. Changes in repertoire, changed date, partially performed arrangement do not constitute a cancelled event. In case of cancellation, you will be contacted on email with refund instructions. If you have any questions about cancelled or rescheduled events, please contact us at post@sentralen.no.
What happens if the event I'm going to is moved to another date or time?
If an event is rescheduled, the original ticket (s) will apply to the new date (unless otherwise advised). If the new time is not suitable, you will be given the opportunity to refund your tickets. NOTE: Ticket fee is non-refundable.
What happens if I can't attend the event that I have a ticket for?
We do not refund your ticket if you are unable to attend the event. This also applies in case of illness.
Can I get a refund for the ticket if I can't go to the event?
We do not refund the purchase of a ticket, unless the event has been cancelled. If you have any questions please get in touch at post@sentralen.no. NOTE: Ticket fee is non-refundable.
Can I give tickets in my name to someone else?
Yes, you can transfer the ticket to another person, unless it is clear on the website and/or ticket that the ticket is personal. You cannot resell your tickets for commercial purposes. Tickets may also not be offered in competitions or in connection with offers of any other product or service without the written permission of Tixly and/or Sentralen, or the organizer. If this provision is violated, Tixly has the right to cancel the ticket. It is your responsibility as a ticket buyer to ensure that you have forwarded the ticket (s). If the person you gave your ticket(s) to loses them, it is your responsibility as the purchaser to replace them.
Tickets to events - Is there an age limit at events at Sentralen?
Some events at Sentralen have an 18-year age limit. This is stated in the event text of the program.
I have a discount code for tickets, how do I use it?
First, add the ticket you are going to buy in the shopping cart, and then fill in the discount code during step 2 of the purchase process. Remember to distinguish between upper and lower case letters, and include spaces, numbers, and other symbols.
Can I take photos during events?
You are allowed to take photos with your phone without flash at event, unless otherwise stated on your ticket. If you want to take photos with a professional camera, you can contact the event organiser. You will find a link to the event organisers web page or Facebook page in the event program.
Where is the venue for the event I'm attending?
You can find information about the venue for your event, several places.
- On your ticket
- At the screen in the reception
- In the event program
- On the event page in the event program
Are tickets available at the door?
You can buy tickets at any time in our reception, or at the door before the event (unless the event is sold out). Please contact the reception or one of our event hosts to purchase tickets. You can also buy tickets online until the event starts.
I got a gift card. How do I use it?
Gift cards can be used to purchase tickets either online or physically at the door before an event. You must have your gift card number and PIN code ready to use the gift card.
When making purchases online, fill in the gift card number and code, then press the “Redeem” button. If you purchase for less than the value of the gift card, the remaining amount can be used at a later date. If the value of the gift card is less than the purchase price, you must pay the rest by card or Vipps.
Gift cards can only be used for tickets, and not other items at Sentralen. Purchased gift cards are non-refundable, nor any residual value.

Who do I ask if I have questions about the event?
Please check that your ticket matches your order. The information about the event is provided by the organizer. If you have any questions regarding the event, please contact the organizer directly.
Are you wondering where to find organizer information? Go to our event program. Find the relevant event and click "Read more." This will take you to the event page. At the bottom of the event description, you will find organizer details and a link to their website.
What is the age limit for children's tickets?
Unless otherwise specified in the event text, or in the ticket purchase process, the age limit for children's tickets is 0 - 16 years.
Do you have companion scheme at Sentralen?
Yes, we have companion scheme. Anyone with a companion certificate can get a free companion ticket to events held here. You can get a companion ticket by sending an email to post@sentralen.no.
What do I do if I bought a ticket for the wrong date or time, or wrong quantity?
We do not refund in case of wrong purchase. Therefore, be careful when buying a ticket, so that you are sure that you buy for the correct date, time and quantity. If you don't get to attend the event, we encourage you to give/sell the ticket on to someone who can use it.
Food and serving
What is the opening hours of the cafe?
Sentralen Kafe is usually open Monday to Friday from 07:30 - 20:00, and 11:00 - 17:00 on Saturday and Sunday.
What are the opening hours of the restaurant?
Hitchhiker Restaurant is usually open Tuesday-Saturday.
Is it possible to reserve a table in the cafe?
Yes, you can reserve a table in the café by sending an email to kafe@sentralen.no.
Is it possible to reserve a table in the restaurant?
Yes, you can reserve a table in the restaurant at sentralenmat.no, or by sending an email to bord@sentralenmat.no.
Do you guys have chambre separee?
The restaurant has an area that can be separated from the rest of the venue by a curtain, but it is not a separate enclosed space. If you want a separate closed room it is possible to rent this, please contact booking@sentralen.no. For example, the meeting room Bankboksen on the ground floor, is perfect as a chambre separee.
Is it possible to order take-away from Sentralen Cafe?
Yes, you can order take-away at Sentralen Restaurants website and pick it up yourself, or get delivered with Wolt or Amoi.
Does the butler present the menu?
No, the butler does not present the menu.
Studioproductions - streaming, recording and podcast
Can Sentralen do both recording and streaming?
Yes, we can do both recording that can be broadcast/shown later, and streaming/streaming that is shown directly. Our streaming technician helps you stream on your social media platforms or your website.
What is a hybrid production?
In a hybrid production, you host an event with a live audience in the room while also streaming the event online, allowing remote viewers to participate digitally.
Can you do multi-camera productions?
Yes, we can carry out multi-camera productions, both recording, streaming and hybrid productions. We have two static cameras, and two remote-controlled cameras that can move.
What can be streamed or filmed in the studios?
Everything can be streamed or recorded/filmed in the studios. For example: Podcasts with one or more participants, informational videos, marketing materials, product launches, readings, press conferences, panel talks, presentations of reports, intimate concerts, promo videos and performances.
What can the streaming engineer help us with?
The streaming technician takes responsibility for controlling the entire streaming or recording from the control room. The technician also broadcasts the streaming on whatever platform you want, help you with planning and production, ensuring that the technical is carried out correctly, while the sound is controlled by the sound technician. The light rigs in the studios are professional light rigs that cover all needs. Standard lighting is always included, and can be rigged by our streaming technician. If you want additional lighting or an extensive lighting rig, we can hire a lighting technician at an additional cost.
What platforms can the streaming be broadcast on?
The streaming can be broadcast on social media such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, on a website or on YouTube or other video platforms. If you have another platform you want to stream to, we will arrange it!
Rental for party, wedding, confirmations og baptisms
What is the capacity of the different venues?
You can find the capacity of the different venues under the photos of the rooms. Click on the links below to get to the pages describing the premises.
Rehearsal rooms, rehearsal rooms, production rooms
Do you have candlesticks?
No, we do not have candlesticks that can be used when renting a room. When the caterer set the table for dinner, they use standard white candles in glass containers.
Do you decorate the venue, can you decorate for me, or do you have decorations?
We do not decorate the venue for your event or party. We can help you decorate, but then you need to book event hosts to help you with this. We do not have decorations that can be used for the event or party, you must bring this yourself.
Is candle lights allowed?
Yes, it is allowed to have candlelights, but under controlled conditions. All tenants and organizers must make sure that the candlelights does not pose a fire hazard.
Do you have any chairs and tables other than the ones you see in the pictures?
No, we do not have other chairs and tables apart from those shown in the pictures. There are different chairs and tables in some venues and rooms.
These can sometimes be used, but it is subject to the room not being in use. It is possible to rent additional chairs and tables from rental companies, who can deliver them to Sentralen.
What do I do if I have technical questions?
If you have technical questions, you can ask the booking team in the booking process, or the producer in the planning process. You can also read our tech specs.
Is it allowed to bring food and drinks to my event or party?
No, it is not allowed to bring food and drinks with you to your event or party. There is an exception for cakes for weddings, graduations etc.
Can guests bring cakes?
Yes, guests can bring cakes. These can be delivered the day before, and will be placed in the fridge. Howewer: you need to arrange this with your producer beforehand.
Do you have parking?
No, we don't have parking spaces available at Sentralen. The nearest parking garages are the Palèet and Bankplassen. There is no street parking in the streets around Sentralen. Øvre Slottsgate, where the main entrance to Sentralen is located, is a pedestrian street.
Can I rent an extra room?
Yes, it is possible to rent an additional room, such as a meeting room. For example, the room can be used for children who need a nap, storage of gifts, photographers who will edit photos etc.

Can I buy food and drinks at Sentralen?
There is both a restaurant, a café an aroof top terrace at Sentralen.
Some venues have adjoining bars, which may be open during certain events.
What is the accessibility for wheelchair users at Sentralen?
Sentralen is universally designed, and all premises at the Sentralen are wheelchair accessible - with lift access, wide doors and HC toilets attached to all floors. Please contact the host if you need assistance.
How do I proceed if I missed/forgot something at Sentralen?
Get in touch at post@sentralen.no with information about what, where and when you have forgotten something. We will help you find your things again. Forgotten items not retrieved within 30 days will be discarded.
How do I get to Sentralen?
Sentralen is located in Øvre Slottsgate 3. There are no parking spaces connected to Sentralen, and we recommend that you use public transport.
Tram: The nearest tram stop is Øvre Slottsgate (trams 11, 12, 13).
Bus: The nearest bus stop is Kvadraturen/Wessels plass (30, 31, 32, 54, 70, 81).
Metro: The nearest metro station is Stortinget. All metros stop at Stortinget.
Car: Nearest parking garages are Palèet and Bankplass, if arrival by car is required. There is no street parking around Sentralen.
What is the opening hours?
Sentralen is usually open every day from 08:00 - 22:00.
When is the reception open?
The reception is usually open Monday to Friday from 08:00 - 16:00. If you need help outside this time, you can call the telephone number provided at the reception.
Can I bring my stroller?
Strollers are warmly welcome at Sentralen, but be careful not to block emergency exits and access to others. Feel free to ask us if we know a good place to place the stroller and we will help you!
Can I bring my own food and drinks to an event?
You cannot bring your own food and drinks to events.
Is there free Wi-Fi at Sentralen?
There is free wireless internet throughout the building.

Do you have a cloakroom?
Some events have a staffed cloakroom in the basement. Other events have wardrobe racks placed in the hall, where you can hang your things at your own risk.
Can I sit in Central and work or study?
Yes, you can sit at Sentralen and work or study. On the third floor you will find Gullhallen, where there are desks, tables and power outlets. It is also possible to sit in Vinterhagen when there are no events there. We have free wireless internet throughout Sentralen.

Can you order a taxi for me?
There is a separate tablet at the reception, where you can easily order a taxi from Oslo Taxi on your own.
Can I park my bike outside?
Yes, there is bike parking outside Sentralen in Øvre Slottsgate.
Can I bring my dog to Sentralen?
Yes, you can bring your dog into Sentralen, but not in the dining areas: top level on the roof terrace, in the cafe and in the restaurant. Keep your dog on a leash and be considerate of others. If you want to bring your dog to an event, ask the organizer for permission.
Service dogs are always welcome at Sentralen, even in dining areas.
