Wedding at Sentralen

Are you looking for unique and impressive venues for your wedding party? At Sentralen we rent out both historical premises with a formal atmosphere, and modern premises that make the party relaxed. Choose from our wedding packages, to make planning as easy and smooth as possible!

Venues for wedding parties of all sizes - including a stunning rooftop terrace

Marmorsalen is the bank's old expedition room on the ground floor. It was here that customers put deposits in the bank, and withdrew money. Here we have retained the original stone floor, the impressive marble interior and the glass pyramid on the ceiling. Marmorsalen also has its own bar and mingle area, and has an area of 550 m2.

This hall offers a grand celebration for up to 250 guests seated at long tables, or 200 people seated at round tables.

Forstanderskapssalen was the bank executives' old meeting room on the third floor. Guests can arrive at the venue by walking up the impressive marble staircase, past the ancient vault doors. Forstanderskapssalen has classic wood panelling on the walls, gorgeous chandeliers and large arched windows. Just outside the room is our elegant bar — Gullbaren. In Gullbaren, an aperitif can be served before dinner, and it is possible to rent the bar to be open during the party.

Forstanderskapssalen is an elegant venue for wedding parties for up to 100 people seated at long tables, or 80 people seated at round tables. If you want horseshoes as a setup, there is room for 38 people.

Kronesalen is one of our newest premises, and opened after the redevelopment of the fifth floor in 2021. At the same time, a two-level roof terrace was built just outside. If you wish, you can rent the roof terrace in addition to Kronesalen. How about letting guests enjoy the welcome drink on the city's rooftop? Or holding the wedding ceremony on the roof terrace, while the guests sit in the amphitheater that connects the two parts?

Kronesalen has large skylights that provide plenty of daylight, and views up into the starry sky. Both the floor and walls are made of light wood. On the ceiling hang specially made light domes produced especially for Sentralen by Magnor glassworks.

Kronesalen is a bright and airy venue for wedding parties of up to 100 people seated at long tables, or just over 80 people seated at round tables.

Hvelvet is Sentralen's most unique local. Make your wedding party special by celebrating in Christiania Sparebank's old bank vault! During the refurbishment of the building, it was chosen to retain the old, thick vault doors in to the venue, and the original staircase and messanine inside Hvelvet. This is an intimate black box!

Hvelvet offers an intimate and raw room for up to 50 guests seated at long tables, 40 guests at round tables or 22 guests in horseshoes.

Rooftop terrace Kron og Mynt is our urban and cozy two-level roof terrace. Here guests get a vibe reminiscent of New York's rooftop terraces, with shrubs, trees, terracotta-colored concrete and brick-plastered walls.

Kron og Mynt is a unique and atmospheric rooftop terrace that can accommodate 150 seated guests in total on the upper and lower levels and in the amphitheater. It can accommodate up to 200 standing guests.

Booking, planning and execution

The most popular months for weddings in Sentralen are May, June, August and September. But of course we accept wedding bookings all year round.

If you want to see the different premises, we welcome you to a free tour of the premises. This must be agreed in advance so that we can be sure that the premises are available on the day you wish to see.

If you choose Sentralen, one of our producers will plan your wedding party with you. If you want to use a wedding planner, this is of course not a problem.

At Sentralen there is a host who is ready to help you on the day. All weddings with us have an associated host, who is responsible for the wedding on the day of execution.

We will invoice the total amount in the aftermath of the wedding.

Wedding ceremony, photo shoot and wedding party in the same place?

Would you like to hold the wedding ceremony at Snetralen as well? Wedding ceremonies have been conducted both on the roof terrace, in Vinterhagen and in Gullhallen.

Several of the premises at Sentralen are also perfect for wedding photography. Both Marmortrappen, the facade of Sentralen, the special staircase from Vinterhagen and the rooftop terrace are perfect backdrops for the photos from their big day.

Give guests an impressive festive dinner

In the building of Sentralen there are several bars, a café and the restaurant Hitchhiker, run by the company SentralenMat - part of EIK Serving. It is SentralenMat that is responsible for all the serving of food and drinks for all weddings at Sentralen.

SentralenMat has been the supplier of food and beverages at Sentralen since its opening in 2016.

Included in our wedding packages, SentralenMat serves multi-course wedding menus, canapés on arrival, night food and coffee avec. It is also possible to add to the tasting of the dinner.

Create your dream wedding!

No matter what kind of theme you want for your wedding party, feel free to decorate just the way you want with us! Our lighting technicians can illuminate the hall exactly as you wish, and you can choose to use Sentralen's furniture, or rent your own.

Are any of the guests going to bake for the party? We store the cakes in our fridges before the wedding so guests who wish can deliver these ahead of time. We also provide cake covering for cakes brought in.

Accommodation and parking

Sentralen has several hotels as its nearest neighbor. Sentralen is also so centrally located in central Oslo, so both you and your guests have hundreds of nearby hotels to choose from.

The nearest parking garage is a few blocks away, for guests who wish to arrive by car and need parking.

Weddings in historic venues

Sentralen is located in the old head office of Christiania Sparebank. In all premises of Sentralen you can find traces of the old bank. We have retained old vault doors, marble interiors, wall panels and impressive mosaic floors. Spread over the building's 12,500 m2, there is also site-specific art by famous Norwegian artists, dark wood walls and concrete floors, and raw exposed walls.

The building is centrally located in Oslo, between Egertorget and Akershus Fortress. Arrive at the party in style, whether in a fancy car or via the metro to Stortinget Metro Station which is only a minute away.

Are you having the ceremony at City Hall? Sentralen is just an 8-minute walk away.

Sentralen is Oslo's entire event house

Sentralen's premises are rented out for all types of events, such as concerts, performances, conferences and television broadcasts — to name a few. We therefore have the best of sound, light and other technical solutions. With us, the toastmaster, the speakers and everyone on the dance floor will benefit from equipment well enough for the world's top performers and speakers!

Every year around 1500 events are held at Sentralen. Since opening in 2016, we have planned and helped to carry out 1000s of events! After eight years, we therefore have solid experience and expertise in booking, planning and conducting all types of events.
